Eucalyptus leaf essential oil is carefully steam-distilled from the oval-shaped leaves of the Eucalyptus (or gum) tree, resulting in a highly fragrant oil that has a distinctive camphoraceous and clearing aroma.
Native to Australia, Eucalyptus trees are towering evergreens that can grow in excess of 150 metres in height. The oil glands in the leaves of the eucalyptus tree produce the aromatic compounds that give us their unmistakable scent.
Eucalyptus essential oil can help alleviate cough and cold symptoms and is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to reduce the severity of symptoms in mild upper respiratory tract infections.
